Hi everyone :)

Today a small break from dragonflies or damselflies and probably my last landscape until i come back from Croatia.

This was taken last month during a road trip to the countryside. This is still in my county, about 40-50km from my hometown and very close to a beautiful Odonata habitat i recently found. It was a hot summer day when we first past through there and when i came back to take some photos, i saw those big dark clouds gathering to the north. The great part was that under them, there still were a few white fluffy ones that were present all day before and, together, they made a very beautiful natural contrast.

These flowers in the FG attracted my attention (i have no clue as for their ID) and i tried composing to include that tree in the BG and keep as much of the sky as possible. This is when i remembered the time when i tried Paul's Sigma 10-20mm lens back in England...ahhh, i sure wished i had one :))

Anyway, i was pretty happy with the result. I have a number of compositions from this place, both horizontal and vertical, but for some reason i felt like posting this one.

Hope you'll like it :)

Hi Horia!

This landscape is simply but very beautifull. It remainds typical Polish countryside landscape. Even tree looks like willow - symbol of our countryside. I really like composition divided into three parts - grim sky, distatnt hills with tree and nearby meadow with flowers. Very fresh colours. Moment is good - I think everyone likes to wait for summer storm after hot day. And last but not least - this place was full of insects, I bet :-)

I hope you'll enjoy your holidays in Croatia and don't forget to take many pictures of d-flies my friend :-)

This is a capture of perfect summer landscape. Some rain gathering on the horizon but whole nature is buzzling with life. You couln't compose it better, clouds, flowers, tree in the bacground... I not only like it, I simply love it!

I like your image a lot... especially the sky. Actually I like all the elements in it. I read an article yesterday that suggested taking two horizontal images... one above the other and combining on the computer to make a square image. You could have had one third foreground and two thirds sky perhaps. Another thing you may have tried is getting lower to foreshorten the foreground. You might have even had the flowers intersect with the sky. That way you might have been able to get more sky in proportion to the foreground. Just a couple of thoughts.

I have heard of your dragonfly competition with Greg, Horia, and I am surprised to find a lovely landscape instead of a new Odonata from you today.
The landscape is very soothing to look at.
TFS and regards.

Buna Horia
Tare ma bucur ca vad in galeria ta si altceva decat odonate, si mai ales ca in prim plan mai sunt si niste plante, care dau culoare acestui peisaj.Foarte, foarte fain!!
Numai bine, Oana

Hi Horia,
this is a textbook example of composition my friend. The placement of all elements here are well seen and well thought out. The exposure balance is exceptional, as are the details.
Funnily enough, i have just bought the same lens (17-70mm), and i have to say i am very impressed with it sharpness throughout the focal range - in fact it's also the fastest lens i own now at f/2.8! I can see why you use it so much, it's versatility is wonderful.

Hope you have a great time in Croatia!

Hello Horia,
Beautiful view of these beautiful wetlands with the Purple Loosestrife scattered in the tall grass. I like the one tree near the horizon that gives nice depth to the view. I also like the beautiful colours and the dark sky and the composition is excellent.
Many thanks, Ulla

Oh how lovely to see these flowers growing wildly, Horia.
It is well composed and an attractive scene, and the storm clouds make it look even better.
Well done
Janice

Hi Horia,
A lovely capture of this beautiful landscape. Very well composed with lovely colors. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Horia,
I love how the dark sky gives the wonderful lumination to the gras and flowers you captured here. It gives such great contrast.
This photo has a real friendly feel to it. The fireweed in the FG and the single tree on the edge of the corn field and a slight hint of mountains in the BG gives it this wonderful pleasant feel.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Horia!

This is such a fine and delicate landscape picture. It's a real pleasure to look at it and to discover all the ingredients that make it so beautiful. I suppose the flower is a species of willow herb (epilobium). Its colour is fabulous and adds to the value of the picture. Moreover, these coloured light spots contrast very well with the dark grey of the delightful sky. It's one of these landscapes where I like to dive into without knowing exactly what makes it so delicious. It's the magic of nature and of the photographer's eye...

Kind regards

Markus

Hi, dear Horia.
You have shared so many wonderful shot and I could not comments all of them. However I have watched them and very proud for you and your amazing skill and works.

This one is fantastic by subject and it reproduction. Wonderful meadow, amazing vegetation and fine flowers. I like composition of the image, plenty sweet for eye objects (remote tree and bush, impressive cloudy sky and hills, superb details of the entire scene. My congratulations and best wishes.
Alexei.
