Hello everyone

Here is how fall looks over here. It's still not at its full extent but it already made a share of the leaves colorful and covered the land with a thin layer of them.

I took a short walk through some nearby woods a few days ago and found these two slopes colliding here and creating this big, wide "V" shape. The trees seem to have had some problems growing up perfectly vertical here and they also seem to lean on the others from the other side, too. By the way, this is not because of the lens distortion.
Also, on this small valley here, some big boulders seem to have rolled on and once reaching here - at the bottom - they just formed this big pack and started growing moss on them.

Anyway, the entire scenery attracted my attention and i took a few shots. There was little light in the forest so i had to use a longer shutter speed. Thankfully, there was almost no wing to spoil the sharpness.

Thinking in retrospect, i wish now i had tried some panoramas from here...eh well...i guess i'll have to go back again sometime for that :)

Hope you'll like it and thanks for visiting!

Hi Horia!

Simplicity at its best... I like that very much. There's not much in the picture, but so much to see, to feel and to think about. It must bea delightful place for a walk and for some meditation. Or just in order to get freed and breath some fresh air. The trees create a particular perspective and all in this picture is tending to the "V" you have mentioned. It's also nice to notice how different the seasons are: here all the trees are deeply coloured.

Kind regards

Markus

Salut
Oana
PS: Sper ca nu te superi...

Hello Horia,
This scene is very similar to the Beech forests where we go to look for Chantarelles! They often grow in mossy patches on these kind of slopes. A beautiful capture from a nice POV and in lovely colours. A lovely place to experience peace!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

hello horia,
the fall looks beautiful, you have captured it well in this shot, the "v" looks great, liked the point of view, the composition, the natural colors look great,
well done,
tfs & regards

We had a provincial term back where I was raised in a small cabin in the woods in Cleveland...we called it a gully...and it ran behind our house and then branched out into several other gullys...Whopping good reminder!I post a picture of where I was born and raised in your workshop!
Bob

I can't account for the leaning trees if it isn't in part due to lens distortion??? Perhaps the two sides of the gully have slid??? There is a nice natural feel to your image. I'd like to go for a walk in those woods. The trees are still very green for this late in October.

Hi Horia,
what a striking image.
Did you take a B+W shot of this earlier in the year?
Very good lighting and colours.
Superb composition.
Great notes.

Well done mate!
Joe

Hi Horia,
I hope are well.
a beautiful landscape with a great composition and nice natural colours.
The DOF is also very good, the picture is sharp from the FG to the BG. And I do like the POV.
Great work, my friend.

Hello Horia,

Wow! What an unusual and incredible scene!!! It looks like 2 pictures added together! The graphical elements here formed by the slopes and the trees make this picture really interesting. I like also the rocks in the middle who are perfectly horizontal and form that way a natural joint between both slopes. Excellent POV and excellent choice for the speed (8 sec.).

Great job my friend!

Michel

Good composition through this peaceful V shape. The latter generates a lot of symmetry(of course:-)
I do appreciate that small aperture, you used, so that the 2D turns into a 3D.
Thumbnail-wise I thought there were some wide-angle lens elements involved but the photo is too natural and that's what makes it special.
Well done
Annick

Hello Horia

This is very cool.
Firstly the woods are beautiful, with lovely colours.
The "V" is interesting and almost looks like a mirror image effect.
Excellent low POV and well composed.
Nicely done.

Hello Horia,
I like this picture very much for the two main reasons: the symmetrical composition and the cold, moody colours. It presents also a wise and effective use of wide angle - strong impact on viewer.
Best greetings & TFS!
Michal

Hi Horia!
I was not in Lodz last time so sorry for lack of contact during last 2 weeks :)
For the first view this picture does not present "anything special" - "just a forest". But I like it because it is "just a typical Fagus silvatica forest". Nice composition, very vivid colours, good saturation and clarity. It is not easy to present something "normal" in good and atractive way, and in my opinion, you done it here in very good way :)
All the best from Lodz my Friend!
Radek

Hi Horia,
I love the effect of te v-shape landscape and how the trees all seem to lean toward eachother. its probably caused by how the light is able to reach the ground. The central composition here works perfectly and forces the eye to follow the dry creek all the way in. Do you know what kind of trees these are? I love the grey color of the trunk and the soft difference in color in the leaves.
TFS,
Niek

HI Horia,
Very original concept with a creative PoV making this composition interesting and meaningful.
I can imagine the wonderful feeling of passing by this forest. And if I 'm able to think of it just by loking at this, it would mean you have transported the mood of the scee right from the woods in to the heart of viwer.

The lighting is just perfect and the 'V" and the fall leaves on them make a beautiful composition.
TFS & Cheers
