Hello Horia,
Never tried this...
You were succesful apparently. I know this technique. But due to the automatic focus in DSLR's, I considered it as something from the middle ages.
The effect is very good. Very enjoyable photo.

I have a photo such as this and it is some kind of accidental mistake by the camera I think..Yo uwould have to see it to believe it..everyone who sees it, thinks I manipulated it but I didn't...unfortunately you cannot see it here on TN because it is of 2 horses...however trust me here..Cameras can do some real strange things...almost a pathway to another plane..I would say to God, but do not want to offend...but that is my take on it...I have saved it as is...but could you send me a copy if you get a chance?! It is an amazing piece of work1b

Hi Horia,
I've always thought of doing this, but it always slipped my mind. Your photo is a great reminder and I think I just have to write it down to not forget it again, next to my multiple strar trail photo. The effect of the slow shutter with the dynamic zoom is awesome. Especially on such a subject as a colorful leave. It made an ordinary subject a highly artful composition. It will be added to my fav's and to the abstract theme.

Maybe another cool thing to try is to use a flash on the second curtain. This will combine this effect with a frozen moment.

It was interesting to see your EXIF data on this photo. While you zoomed during the exposure, the record shows a focal length of 70mm. I guess the camera records the data before the exposure.

Great effect Horia!
You are a natural researcher, your experimental attitude can lead to great things!
As a work of photographic art this can win prizes.
It can even be regarded as being true to nature as we see it, especially when one has tear-filled eyes caused by the cold wind.
A fine contribution to show what can be done by the imaginative use of the camera without PP work or without the use of a studio.

What a fantastic effect, Horia!
I've tried zoom-bursts a few times but have never had such a good result as this.
The effect draws the eye straight to the vibrent yellow leaf.
Very good sharpness.
Excellent colours.
