Hi friends,

This shot is pretty much how the weather is outside here...dump and foggy. However, if you see such tones among concrete and metal it's depressing (at least to me) whereas if you see it in a nice natural setting...it can actually be beautiful :)

This is another shot i took few weeks ago, during a shot, one afternoon, trip to the mountains.
Here you see a very narrow valley, almost like a gorge, on a very humid and foggy day. Imagine that this was taken right after lunch, but the clouds were so dark and the fog was so thick that i needed 25 seconds for this exposure (and i didn't use any ND filter).

I wish you all a wonderful Sunday (and a great week, too, afterwards) and i thank you all for visiting. Hope you'll like it.

Hi Horia
I like that kind of places. Great mood. Very good composition with good positioning of the stream line. Also good exposure in a relatively dark place
i like it very much

Hi Horia,
the way seems to end there ...
Again a pretty place but also made for a little shiver so dark and amidst the forrest.
I can imagine how dark it was there when you needed 26 seconds for the shot.
Thanks and greetings
Sabine - wishnugaruda

Hello Horia,
Well presented, well composed. Excellent natural colours; autumn colours as they should be. Very effective 3D. Futhermore I like the foggy atmosphere...
You should expect noise if you take into account the very long shutter speed (26 seconds) but apparently it isn't there.
Finally is there a specific reason why you underexposed almost a stop?
A beautiful image.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice Sunday!
Annick

Hello Horia,
We have the same dull weather here and the best place to be is in the woods where the fog is hidden behind the trees! This is a lovely view of the Beech forest with a trickling stream and the fog in the distance.
Great DOF, lovely colours and a fine composition.
TFS and kind regards, Ulla

I'm a fan of your forest shots, Horia, it is splendid. I love the amazing details on the ground covered by the leaves. I like the dim light and the way the valley runs along the picture in a curve. The colours are really beautiful, too, I for one am very fond of fall, grey light and such dimmed colours. Very well captured, my friend, the composition is great.

It is this kind of image, in which you are superb as is Paul Haynes...in that spirit I posted one today..and there is not comparison...It is all in the way you see...and you are among a special few who do it this way..Congrats on your fine talent!

Hello Horia,
What a beautiful image consider the conditions. With such a long exposure in must have been dead calm. The result is a splendid fall image with magnificent colors and scene well captured. Thank you Horia.

Hi Horia!

Despite the fog it turned out very detailful. And yes, it is beautiful, for me even a bit tale-like! I think it would make a very good large print. Good decision to post this. TFS!

Hi Horia!

This is a gorgeous picture...

:-)

I like the ambience very much and would love to see more of the fog. I have made a series of pictures with larches in the fog last year. The effect is peaceful and relieving, like in your picture. The carpet of dead leaves contrasts well with the green plants. I'm suprised by the sharpness of the picture although you exposed it during 26 seconds! Why did you do that?

Kind regards

Markus

The POV is perfect and the sharpness is exemplary, the colours are rich and natural.
Best wishes,
Achim

hello horia,
beautiful place captured beautifully, i loved the colors here, well composed shot with fine pov, the fall looks real treat to watch.
well done,

Hello Horia, this is a nice shot and a good one. Excellent clarity Ganesh

Hi Horia,

To answer your question on your last critique that you have sent me, I am ok and felling well.

What I like in this picture is how the slope on each side brings naturally your eyes towards the stream in the center and then towards the BG; you want to know what's waiting further along this stream. The fog and the trees on each sides also add to the composition. The polarizer filter help with the colors.

TFS,

PC :)

Hi horia.

Nice atmospheric shot! I can only imagine how dark it must have been for a 25s exposure. Well composed and taken, i particularly like the dense criss cross off branches towards the top left of the frame.

Hello Horia,
At least you can console yourself that you don't get as much darkness as we do in Sweden!
But I know what you mean when the mist covers the landscape like a cold dark blanket in the winter and with concrete that is a nightmare!
However you have made good use of such conditions in this autumn capture of a young beech forest. The misty light is brightened up by the patches of green, brown and gold in this fine composition along a stream that gives it a great perspective.
Thanks for sharing this brightness in the gloom!
Ivan

Hi Horia

A very pleasant autumn forest scene from your country.
Good composition and good long exposure.

Chris

Hello Horia,
This is great! I love places like that and you've captured the feel of them perfectly. The POV and framing are very good. The only thing I would probably change is white balance. I like to set it to cloudy or shade to get warm tones and avoid blue and purple bits in the image. Can I ask what WB did you set for this shot? On my monitor the stones in the stream look a bit purple.

Cheers,
Monika

25 seconds!! It must have been pitch black! :-)
Once again you present a wonderful spirit-lifting shot.
The colours are great.
Well composed using the gorge as a lead-in line.
Excellent clarity.

Very nice work mate!

Hi Horia,
I really like this one. The wide view gave me a very good impression of the wildness of the forest. The many different shapes of trees and the roughness of the rock make this a stunning photo. I also like the combination of the thick layer of old leaves combined with the freshness of the new leaves. The depth created by the river bed is awesome. I am impressed about the shutter speed and how dark it must have been.
TFS,
\Niek

I agree that the duller light makes for some rich colors and nice ambience in photos. I like this shot a lot. The composition is really nice with the stream bed leading into the scene to the distant soft light in the background. I can't imagine that 25 seconds didn't burn out some of the lighter areas.

Hello Horia !
Imissed so many of your picture - I didn't know which one I like best among all of them ! :-) But I raelly LOVE this one, with forest and autumn and foggy atmosphere - a bit msyterious. Wonderful. And the landscape in itself is splendid, little river in its narrow valley - I have something very much alike, close to my home, but not as beautiful as this one, for I don't have all these beautiful stones. Technical aspect of the picture is perfect, as always with you. Very well done !
Valerie.
