Hi friends,

Yesterday was the national day of Romania and since it was a day off for everyone, i managed to convince few of my friends to take a trip with me to the mountains.
However, it was supposed to be a normal, regular trip: we left the city at about 12 o'clock at night, drove to the base of the mountain, got there at about 2-2:30, started hiking in the big snow (in some places about 1 meter...and our legs still hurt because we would sink in about half of that at almost every step) and kept going up till about 6 o'clock. Then, we reached out destination and waited for this beautiful sunrise to appear :-D

...so yeah...the title refers to me :-)

If you also feel a bit crazy, come to our TN MEETING next year: here is the forum thread about when and where. Thanks.

Hope you like it and thanks for visiting :)

Hi Horia!

Welcome to club of the crazy people. I'm a member since many years, and some believe hard that I could be the guru of the club. Anyway, I just would like to tell you that for me crazy people are the interesting ones!

Your picture of that fine sunrise gets its full dimension together with the narrative notes. After having read them, one looks at the picture in a different, more respectful and admirable way...

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Horia,
A well timed, well composed and well placed camera lens make this a fine sunset shot over the mountains in your area.
I looked your area up on the Google map and it confirms, like this image, that you live in a beautiful part of Europe, which in itself is a good reason to celebrate a National Day.
Thanks for sharing this and have a good day!
Best wishes,
Ivan

Hello Horia

It's a quit different hobby than taking pictures but you show that it is perfectly combining with eachother.
Nice picture with a great sky and just sufficient details in the foreground.

Hi Horia
Dark and full of feelings
Impressive moment captured.. Thanks for sharing photo

Hi there Horia!

I remember once my legs almost freezing off when waiting for a sunrise shooting too, and last weekend my fingers were almost frozen to the rocks when climbing in Croatia. I had such a pain when I was raised down and blood started to go back in my fingertips... But doesn't that craziness give our lives some special spice compared to people always watching tv at home or so? :) I hope we'll still act the same way many years from now!

About the shot, it's fantastic, shows a really nice atmosphere that seems it was worth the trip! My only doubt was the black frame but I tried it with a white one and that was much worse :) The black one fits the night story anyway so I guess it's fine as it is.
I like there's details in the pine trees as well: very good overall exposure.

ps. I'm keeping on to watch the forum for any change, isn't there a way to automatize an email for myself if there's new content there? Do I have to write in there to turn notification on? Thx for your help in advance! And for sharing of course!

Cheers,
Andor

Aha!...I can feel your pain as our Bill Clinton was so fond of saying. having been in the same predicament...but not the same shoes..I wore Sorrels made in Canada with heavy lining...and usually our snow s 2-3 feet deep but had compacted...yet if one went astray it was not hard to get a bit in difficulty..Here in Washington State people die EVERY year from such events...in the Cascades Range of mountains usually but once in a while up in my wilderness as well..Good story for the image!
Bob

Hello Horia,
Thank you so much for sharing this incredible sunrise after so much effort on the hiking and the cold!
the sun is coming out nicely from the distance horizon that makes the beautiful sky!
well done and TFS
cheers
Tony

Hello Horia

Wow talk about dedication.
That is struggling for your art.
The colours are amazing.
The silhouetted trees and land are wonderful.
A well composed landscape shot.
I know the freeling of walking through metre deep snow, but this photo will last forever,so it was worth every aching step.

That is what is special about friends. Instead of criticizing your "crazy" behavior.... they do it with you!! It's a great reminder for you of a morning of camaraderie. What wonderful color you captured. I'm glad it all turned out well. Be careful though...

Hi Horia,
a fabulous shot.
I love the colours in the sky!
Very good clarity.
Excellent exposure.

Well done,
Joe

p.s I'll email you an update on possible participating members for the Big TN Meet-up soon!

Hello Horia,
Maybe this is why I don't do many landscapes..
What you went through to get to this beautiful sunrise destination, would kick my butt ;-)
Very nice!

Bit crazy...you? Surely not ;o) Sounds like the type of mission i would have loved to have joined you on my friend and look at the result - wow. The only thing i would perhaps say is the small amount of snow in the bottom left corner - i think maybe there should be alot more of it or none at all, as for me, it is a little distracting...hope this makes sense? A fine image though, a d a wonderful result of your madness! a real beauty mate :o)
Paul

Hello Horia,
Absolutely beautfiul sunset shot, superb colors,
excellent composition and lovely light. Great way
to celebrate your country.
Thanks
Angela

Hi Horia,
I have a hard time beeing that crazy, but I think I have to become it more often. The the lucky side though, its difficult for me to climb mountains in this country. The result of your night trip certainly paid of. The high view over the mountians toward the rising sun is spectacular. The use of the filter is well recorded; you've got excellent detail in the trees.
TFS,
Niek

P.S. I don't think I will attend the meeting. I am hoping to be in the US around that time of the year.

Hello Horia,
I think beautiful sunrises I've managed to see in my life are very few. I always intend to get up at 4 in the morning and go down to the coast, but I've not got around to it yet!! I admire you and you're lucky to have 'crazy' friends too!
This is a beautiful sunrise over the mountains with beautiful clouds and the pine trees just showing. Great DOF and lovely colours too.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Salut Horia
Toate cele bune, Oana
