Hello Horia,
Yes I fully agree. The departure of Gert is an immensely lost for all of us.
But your contribution is also great. This photo for instance. What a fantastic sharp details. The dew drops are splendid. Beautiful natural colours in clear light. Excellent POV and plain BG.
Have a good weekend,
Peter

Hello Horia
First of all I never got to know Gert very well but having looked through his gallery I feel I have missed out on knowing a great contributor with an immense knowledge of wildlife and photography.
Now for this wonderful capture of yours...
Your Work and knowledge is finally being reproduced to a standard that reflects your hard work through the 150mm Macro you use now.
The gradated bg which highlights the dew covered Emerald Damselfly is beyond reproach.
I can only congratulate you and aim higher myself and thank you for giving me an unhealthy interest in Dragons and Damsels!!
All the Best
Billy

Hello my friend,
i see you are taking full advantage of this seasons new offerings...wow. You seem to have really honed your craft now. There's really nothing to crtitique here. The DOF is perfect, POV very well chosen to give you that wonderful neutral background, and the little patch off light gives it that something extra special...you are a true master of your craft! Superb work, really.
Treknature needs your level of photography and although Gert has sadly left, your presence here still offers us all something to aim for.
Have a great weekend buddy.
Paul

Hi Horia.
It is really not the best time here now. Thanks for nice dedication to out dear friend Gert. It is great loss for all of us and for TN too. Your damselfly is so brilliant as Gert's one. It is your favorite subject and you always do it perfectly. At this shot I like all (first and the main my love it is photographer :)): fantastic blameless composition, razor sharp details of the dry stem and charming insect, stunning smooth BG with unusual and very pleasant coloutration. My warm greeting. I hope you will have the time and desire to visit TN and post your shots.
Yours Alexei.

Agreed. It is as if the cornerstone of the whole building has shaken in a mighty earthquake. As humble as Gert is/was, his presence is/was beyond a doubt a sure sign the professionalism still reigns.
Now as to make this proper, your image is one perfectly chosen in it's clarity, framing and contrasts. It is befitting of a database of nature pictures and I am certain most well appreciated by Gert, as it is by me.
