[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hepatica is a genus of herbaceous perennial plants belonging to the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. Hepatica is named from its leaves, which, like the human liver (Greek hepar), have three lobes. It was once used as a medicinal herb.

Hepatica nobilis reaches a height of 10 cm and produces hermaphroditic flowers from February to May. The leaves are basal and dark leathery green, each with three lobes. The flowers may be white, bluish purple or pink; they are supported singly on hairy, largely leafless stems.
Noted for their tolerance of alkaline limestone-derived soils, Hepatica may grow in a wide range of conditions; it can be found either in deeply shaded deciduous, woodland and scrub or grassland in full sun. Hepatica is tolerant of winter snow cover, but less so of dry frost.

A good close up shot of this flower. Good focus and composition. A lot of detail in the stem of the plant. Well done.

A high quality picture of this Hepatica!
I like so much the clear and sharp details got.
The vivid and intense color of the petals is very good.
Great the DOF use, the soft and rich background got.
Personally, I think that the fill flash were to strong with this delicate subject...I'm not an expert in shoting with flash, but I blieve that using some king of diffusor would be helpfull for the result, a more natural one.
Look at that, the light and shadow contrast in the filaments are to strong.
