[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Aesculapian Snake - Zamenis longissimus, previously known as Elaphe longissima, lives in southern Europe and Turkey. Size can reach up to 200 cm but is normally 120 – 140 cm. Animals from the Western part of their geografic range are smaller than the ones from the East. They favor rocky areas, walls, ruins and wooded hillsides.
The body color is either of a yellow-brown, olive, grey-brown, or black-brown. Many of the back and side scales have white edges, also, especially young snakes do have a yellow dot on both sides of their neck. The Aesculapian Snake is an egg-laying species. Mating period is in May while the birth of babies will happen in September. It makes a hibernation of 5 or even 6 months. It's absolutely harmless and non-venomous.

Foarte reusit portretul asta de Z. longissimus!
Imi place mult postura in care l-ai prins si de asemenea DOF suficient de mare pe care l-ai folosit.
Detaliile sunt exceptional iar culorile excelente.

This snake looks a lot like our Brown Snake in Australia whose venom is deadly. Great image, the quality is superb. You can guarantee that I will never get a shot of our Brown like that.
