Hi Alex,
what a great close up of the nose horned viper. I only saw this species once and I think it's impressive. Just as your picture. I think the technical workout could be slightly better (a bit overexposed I think). But that doesn't spoil my opinion about the picture. Top!

JAcob

Superb! Daca ar fi sa folosesc doar un cuvant: superb, ar ficel mai usor sa decriu cea ce se vede! Foarte dinamica si intimidanta captura ta. Bravo, big A. !

Hello Alex,
Very nice close up picture of this nose-horned viper. Sharp with vibrant colors. Composition, pov, dof, exposure are great. Very well done and TFS.
JC
Very nice pic. But was too sharpness made some noise on edges of objects. It could be remove very simply by Despeckle option in Photoshop.
Regards,
DT.
Alex,
Love the POV and composition of this shot. Of course, I love all snake shots, but this one is one of the nicer ones I have seen on TrekNature.
There is a little bit too much noise in the background. I don't know if that is from the sensor or post-processing.

Bine lucrat :)
Bravo si TFS

Hi Alex,
Great DOF, comp and sharpness in this risky shot. The noise can be remedied and does not dtract much from the quality of this capture.
Well done!

Hello Alex!
This time without points but I will come back here with them tomorrow ;)
This is a very nice portrait of Vipera amodytes! I was 4 times in Romania and I tried to find this species to take it a photo but without any success :(
I like your picture because of very nice POV, good DOF and contrast.
The note about this species is also very informative.
Best regards,
Radomir

Hello Alex,
A very good close-up of this dangerous snake! And the look in its eyes is just ... deadly! One thing cracked me: in your note you stated "I shed a lot of sweat, blood and tears to get this shot"! Why was that? I understand sweat, even blood, but tears? Why did you cry?
Composition:
This is a very powerful composition! Good balance between subject and empty space! It is a positive thing that you ddn't go for the whole snake, ending up by placing its nose close to the left border. The space in front of its nose is necessary for the snake to strike into. The background is nicely blurred which makes the snake stand out but there are also some distracting plants which of course could not have been removed by yourself (unless you wanted to shed more blood :) ) I also appreciate your POV. By placing the camera low on the ground you create the illusion of a really big snake! Much better than a snapshot from above! Great job here!
Colors:
The colors look natural to me and the saturation seems to be normal but I've never seen this beast so please don't rely on my opinion on this!
Contrast:
The overall contrast of the picture is very good! It is a great thing to have less contrast in the background than in the subject. It helps isolating the snake from everything else!
Exposure:
The clearly visible details in the most parts of the picture are a proof of the well chosen settings in the camera. However there are significant overexposed areas in the rock in the lower left corner! If you were to expose the rock correctly you would have lost details in the deep shadows (underexposure). These things happen when the sun stands high in the sky! You could have worked around this inconvenience by using a certain amount of fill flash to illuminate the shadows a bit and shorten the shutter speed to get a proper exposure on the rock. This would have preserved the details in the shadows without sacrificing the details in highlights.
Focus:
The focus was properly achieved on the snake's head. It also led to excellent details in the snake's skin!
A very good close-up with remarkable strong points after all! Very good job! Thank you for sharing!
With Friendly Regards,
Eddie
