Physalis alkekengi (Chinese Lantern)
is easily identifiable by the larger, bright orange to red papery covering over its fruit, which resemble Chinese lanterns.
It is a herbaceous perennial plant growing to 40-60 cm tall, with spirally arranged leaves 6-12 cm long and 4-9 cm broad. The flowers are white, with a five-lobed corolla 10-15 mm across, with an inflated basal calyx which matures into the papery orange fruit covering, 4-5 cm long and broad.
Hope you like, personally I count this fruit in later autumn to be admirable, when it become a cage (from calix)with a red fruit inside. |

nice botanical picture, TFS Ori
super capture and composition of this lantern, I love them when they are skeletons and have some in my garden, must do some shots myself. Will also try f11 1/500.
Nice picture Lucian.
Did you do any WS? A little sharpness would be fine.
Best regards,
Ioana
