[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Heath Fritillary(Melitaea athalia) ranges throughout the Palaearctic region from Western Europe to Japan (Warren and Emmet, 1990).
Heath Fritillary is not listed on the IUCN Red List (IUCN, 2006), suggesting that globally it is not considered threatened.

Within Europe, Heath Fritillary occupies treeless meadows, hills and slopes, and heathland (Whalley, 1981).

More specifically, in England, this species occupies three distict habitats (Tomlinson and Still, 2002; Warren and Emmet, 1990):

Grassland rich in plantain (Plantago spp.) – sometimes in the form of abandoned hay-meadows
Sheltered heathland with Common Cow-wheat
Coppiced woodland (especially in clearings) with Common Cow-wheat.
In France, this species is uses unimproved hay-meadows and pastures (Warren and Emmet, 1990).

Wonderful composition with nice clarity and detail. The colors are rich and well saturated and the details are very nice, sepecially on the darker butterfly. Very good DOF.

Exceptionala!Cei doi Melitaea sunt superbi.Din pacate cel din spate este putin neclar.Chiar daca nu sunt mari pentru ca sunt doi nu poti zice pe ce specie de floare sunt.
