[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I caught this moth sleeping and protecting itself from the rainy day under a thick patch of Melampyrum plants.
My first moth source of identification is a rather old and incomplete (both in descriptions and drawings) book.
Since nowadays my time is really limited, so none to spare browsing the net for a proper identification, I'll ask for it to my second ident source: the TN members, source that gave me so far many accurate data about some species I taught I'll never be able to put a name on.

The moth was cca 3-4 cm in wingspan.

Anticipate thanks, guys!

Hi Petry,

What a good shot, the colors, composition and DOF is perfect.
The profile of the moth is not that visible to identify it , sorry!!

Hi Petru!
Interesting pose of this tired moth. I like bright flash-made colours and dark BG. Good moment and I hope you didn't wake up it ;-)

Nice colorful picture of the for me unknown moth. The moth have interesting antenes. Melamphyrum nemorosum is very nice and interesting plant too.

Hello Petru,
Nice color, great use of flash. Good detail and BG here also. Well done.

Petru, a great moment, a great photo.

I like colors and saturation.

The dark bg works well too.

Hello Petru, unfortunatelly I can't help with the ID.
The picture is interesting, has nice colours and framing. However I have feeling it could've been more clear. Slightly bigger DOF and a bit different POV would probably help too show the moth better.
Anyway, well done on this one!

Hi Petru!
How interesting... So, this is how they appear when sleeping and protecting theirselves...
The old duck with its bill stuck in the feathers is easy to recognize, but this is a new one for me.
Very nice treat!
Thanks,
Dave

ps sorry I can't help with the ID...;-(

Wow ! What a wonderful and interesting composition that you have very well done ! I also appreciate the complementary note... Congratulations Petru and thanks for sharing.

Hi Petru,

very interesting pose of that moth that at first glance seems to be a noctuid. But the brushy antennae?!
I think it belongs to the Lymantriidae family.

It seems to be:

"Dasychira pudibunda",

called "Streckfuss" in German.
I think you should ask "Osmeterium" in Russia for confirmation.

Sorry you didn't ask me to identify the flower ;)

Very appealing shot, colourful, with some miracles included.
I like that very much.

Best regards,
Peter
