Snake-eyed skink is a truthful jewel between the leaves, is small than 15 cm long, and lives in Eastern Europe and southwestern Asia. It is a shy species, which lives under leaves in dry places, such as south wooded slopes. The skin is bronze colored, with dark sides. The eyelids are immovable, in contrast to many other lizards.

runningout of time I saw this one. I think it's awesome. A fantastic capture of the beautiful species. Is this one also real fast as the skinks a have seen.

a very good photograph of this tiny skink,
the leaf gives scale to its size,and the shiny bronze colouring shows up very

Imi plac culorile si compozitia. Arata specia in mediul natural. Detaliile sunt excelente. Mi-e dor de micutii astia. Eu am vazut in Dobrogea.

WOW! E probabil cea mai buna poza cu un Ablepharus facuta in Romania pe care am vazut-o! Pur si simplu SPLENDID!

Trebuie sa fie foarte caldut la voi, caci vad ca poza e facuta anul asta...se misca bine animalutele, inseamna :)

Imi place foarte mult unghiul din care e pozat - care arat foarte bine si coloritul si luciul intregului animal dar si dunga laterala si ociul micul al simpaticului :)
De-asemenea detaliile sunt foarte clare, culorile superbe si DOF-ul exceptional.
Ce mai imi place foarte foarte mult e contrastul dintre soparla si frunza de stajar pe care sta - lucru care,de fapt, deserveste doua lucruri deodata: contrsatul si scoaterea in evidenta a trasaturilor animalului si arata si habitatul natural.
Per total: EXCELENT!!!
Cu sifuranta o favorita!

Culori in tonuri apropiate, si totusi se distinge clar conturul animalului. Poza o salvez pentru determinator ;) ca cine stie cand mai prind asa una buna!

Very nice picture of lizard species! I was a few time in Romania but I never seen this species.. :(
Good DOF, nice details, and POV. I also like this photo because you presented here a total specimen. Thanks to that we can note it small size and body proportions.

Am si eu o intrebare pentru domnul Parvulescu.Asi fi interesat unde a vazut specia aceasta pentru ca am fost fascinat de ea de cand am vazut-o , eu fiind din zina respectiva si nu am vazut niciodata aceasta specie.De aceea sunt curios daca a vazut-o in Cazane sau pe Domogled?
