| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
CRESTED LARK (GALERIDA CRISTATA)
Crested lark is a common bird of dry open country and cultivation. It is a non-migratory bird and is mostly found across most of temperate Eurasia from Portugal to northeast China and eastern India, and in Africa south to Niger.
Crested Lark is a smallish lark, slightly larger and plumper than the Skylark. It has a long spiky erectile crest. It is greyer than the Skylark, and lacks the white wing and tail edged of that species. In flight Crested Lark shows reddish underwings. The body is mainly dark-streaked grey above and whitish below. The song is melodious and varied, with mournful whistles and mimicry included.
Crested Lark nests on the ground, laying two or three eggs.
Crested Lark's food mainly consists of weed seeds and insects, |

Hi Marius. You have taken this CRESTED LARK with sharp focusing and fine detail. I like the pose with the bird looking the other way.Your use of the light has given bright natural colours. well done TFs.
Nick..
Hi Marius,
A very good shot, fine focus and dof. The oof background shows of the bird very well. Good pose of the bird showing the crest off well.
Reminds me of a holiday in spain 3 years ago when I first saw one.
Regards,
Bill
