Hello Horia,
An admirable macro work that presents the zebra spider in a rather cute pose. Considering the size of your sensor, f/8 should be about the limit in terms of diffraction, and it looks sufficient. There is a lot of detail around the eyes. It seems to me that there is serious color fringing, esp. red, which can perhaps be reduced in PP. It also appears like you have applied noise reduction, which has smeared parts of the spider's body. I may be wrong on both accounts, of course. In any event, a remarkable capture.
Best wishes,
Hakan

Hi Horia,
You got an excellent sharpness and definition in this macro.
I like a lot the details that can be appreciated on the insect, specially on the very impressive eyes.
DOF so narrow that blurr every thing else around the spider.
I like the inclination of the surface and the composition made.
Congratulations and thanks for share it,
My best regards,
JM

Hello Horia!
Very nice macro of so small creature! And you presented both sexes (in worshop there is a male - these "two black strange things" are main characters of male :>).
It is really nice to see that you photograph smaller and smaller invertebrates! Adn these are really good!
My congratulations and best regards,
Radomir
PS.Both photos are welcomed on PES!!! ;>

Hello Horia,
This is one of the cutest spiders I have seen so far! I like its eyes a lot, the pose you captured and this great and original POV. Details are amazing with nice brilliance and exposure. I saw this nice picture in WS too but I'm not very aware of spider's anatomy, sorry I can't help ;) Well done!

Hello Horia,
Nice little monster ! Shallow DOF gives a nice effect. For the hudge black things I don't know the name, I imagine it is for eating ?
The "+++" : frame, diagonal composition, subject, pose, sharpness, DOF, exposure, useful note and WS...
The "-" : nothing...
Congratulations my friend and TFS.

Hello Horia !
This is an excellent picture ! This spider looks really huge on your picture, particularly for people like me who ae afraid of spiders ! :-) Beautidul composition and DOF, natural colors, and excellent details on the 'face' of the animal. He is looking directly at you ! Very well done !
Valerie.
Hoi again,
maybe I am just very selective in my sightinbgs, but I have never seen a spider like this. Or maybe we don't have 'm here in the Netherlands. This Powershot camera keeps on surprising me with the great macro images, or is it just your skilled hands .....;-)
A bit shallow on the DOF but overall a nice picture.

Hello Horia,
If you forget about the sharpness, it's a really great shot :-)
I very much like the POV and spider's pose. The framing is very good and clear BG is a big bonus. The shiny eyes are great too.
The details are preety much lost though :-) This is not a huge problem for me because the shot itself is good and the quality is more up to the camera than a photographer in this case.
Overall, good job on this one!
PS. As for the WS. I've never seen anything like that before and I have no idea what's going on with this spider. It's really interesting to see a picture like that though.

Very nice pose.
Nice eyes.
Excellent use of flash, which gave a very natural effect.
I puzzled by the shadow (right under and sharp). Is it the one from the sun or from the flash. Which flash did you use? Was it loose from the camera and handheld? Any diffuser?
The oblical pose is indeed brilliant.

The things you wanted to learn more about are called mandibles.
< Jaws > At their tips are fangs that contain the poison stuff... etc.
What REALLY amazed me about arachnids is that they can have up to EIGHT EYES!!! We see four bright ones here.
Great macro, with sharpness and detail on the eyes. Other parts are not as sharp. Horia, Tfs, Jay
PS Is that where "having eyes in the back of the head" comes from?
