Hi Tom . Not an animal you see on TN very often so thanks for posting. I like the pose you have captured with the Polecat looking over his back. Good detail and colours. with a nice POV/ DOF. very well done TFS. good notes too.
Nick..

Hello Tom,
Very nice capture of an animal one does'nt see images very often.
Love the way the colors of the fur do stand out against the green of the grassess.
Excellent sharpness, DOF and exposure due to wich the details in the fur are wonderfully visible.
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards and have a nice Sunday evening,
Harry

You caught a good pose here Tom, and I like how the animal stands out from the defocused grass in front and behind.
It looks to me like you cropped in quite heavily here, but the sharpness on the polecat is still pretty good, although not as good as it would have been if you'd managed to get in closer and fill the frame.
The shot would have had more impact taken in better light as it's a bit flat and dull at the moment, but you have to work with the conditions you find at the time. Overall, I like it.

Cheers,
Ben

Great capture with perfect DOF. Flat? No way. Dull? Are you kidding? No - you did a great job on this one, that I've never seen in the wild! Kudos! Cheers, Klaus

Hi Tom,
I did'nt comment on this excptional slide before because on TN I usually concentrate on macro shots of insects. You did a very good job here, what with the sharpness, the alert posture of the animal and the hole it seems to disappear in the next millisecond. But the picture is of course special in the sense that this species of polecats has rarely been documented in the wild. Thanks for all.
My best regards,
Dietrich
