Hello again after quite some time :o)

I've been very busy lately, on many levels, and time for posting and criticizing on TN sadly had to be cut down :( I'm really sorry for that as i am for missing a lot of wonderful and interesting posts here.
I don't know when exactly i'll be back in full action since i have to do a lot of traveling and biology field work now that the warm season has begun.

So, i'm afraid that this post is simply just a touch-base, just a quick "Hi" and not much more...

As for the shot(s) itself, it's a rather simple one, using the continuous shooting and aiming at a Laughing Frog at the thermal lake from 1 Mai.
It's mating season for the Rana ridibundas there and every frog is trying to prove that it is "the best in the game" :))

Hope you'll like it and hope all of you are well, my friend! Take care ;o)

PS1: don't waste your points on this one friends...i'm almost positive i won't have time to return your critiques now :o(

PS2: the damsels are out here, so it might be worth searching for them if you are interested :o)

Hi Horia,
it's great that you can still find time to drop in now and again, and you share another great posting with us!
Amusing and informative, i really like this almost animated layout here of this little Frogs cheeks increasing in size! Excellent low POV and a perfect DOF - great work. Hope to see you back soon my friend, enjoy your travelling and the field work.

Hello Horia,
great sequence of shots that show this frogs "special bubble" feature off very well.
I bet he will not sink with those life savers holding him up ;-).
Sky

Nice sequence captured. Great DOF and POV.

Best regards,
Kean

Hi Horia!

I'm ready to "waste" my points on this one! I had a smile on the face when I saw your triptych. Beside its biological aspect the picture also has a very funny impact. Moreover, the idea to present the mating procedure of the frog in a series of pictures is amazing.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Horia,
Even though you have been busy it is nice to see you back in action on TN again, especially with this fine sequence of Rana ridibunda inflating its vocal sacs. Each shot is sharp and shown from the best POV to show how much they inflate.
Great to view and thanks for sharing this!
Don't work too hard my friend!
Ivan

Oddly enough, back when I first learned how to play single reed instruments, this happened to me. I had a very hard set of teeth and my mouthpiece was well gripped. It feels unusual when it happens...as it isn't really supposed to happen in humans though possible. In this case it was a "meant to be".

I like the three panel montage. Very nicely done Horia!
Bob

Hi Horia.
Very nice shots especially gathered together. Simply amazing series. Wonderful DOF, amazing colours and ratio of sharpness and blurriness. Timing is spot on too. Bravo.
Alexei.
P.S. I think it will be interesting to you to read note to my last post.

Well, I am not wasting point talking to you Horia, as it is nice to see one of your post again. As for your presence, life is a wave on the shore. You will be back with more time. I am like that too, sometimes no time. And this is a funny and great montage here, I love it! do you know the fable by Jean de Lafontaine, La grenouille qui voulait se faire aussi grosse que le boeuf (The toad who wanted to become as big as the beef). It is exactly what you pictured except that in the fable, the toad explodes because it infatuated too much... great shots, great light, funny image. And keep shooting, I know you'll be back with your great posts! Thank you!

Francine

A perfect series on the voicing effort of a male Rana ridibunda in a gradual filling act of double vocal sacs Horia, a fine textbook capturecarried out expertly my friend. TFS and cheers,
Mehmet
