Cetonia ?

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
We are in the middle of the summer with long sunny days and high temperatures. The place of the strong colored spring flowers was taken by the beautiful and strong colored bugs.
While walking on the high plane of Tampa mountain I saw some tall flowers and felt theirs strong but pleasant smell. Looking better at the flowers I could observe a nice colored bug seeming to eat them.
It is not an uncommon or rare bug but despite these I always like to meet and observe it in summer. It is a relative big bug having a very attractive old cupper color. Further on I observed another one with a strong green color, feeding on the same type of flower.
Coming home from the trip I wanted to find out the scientific name of the bugs. I must say it is not so easy for me. Even now I am not sure if I made photos with Cetonia or Protaetia. I would appreciate if anyone of you could be so kind to let me know the difference between these insects. |

Excellent beetle. good colours and a fine macro. regards h
Hi Cristian,
nice composition, good colors, interesting flower. quite shallow DOF but I know that the size of this beetle don't help in catching the right sharpness.
cheers
Adrian
