COMMENTS: This was the first picture of my first trip to Crisul-Alb river to shoot birds. It surprised me because I was preparing to shoot some fishes and some autumn landscapes (using 100-400#100mm) when this bird appeared on the other side of the river, in a tree 15m away from me. It only stayed in that tree for 5 seconds and then it flew in a tree like 100m away. I managed to take 2 pictures. When I shoot this picture I wasn't very sure what species it is. In the beginning I believed that it was a green woodpecker juvenile, but after I studied more carefully I classified it as Grey-headed Woodpecker.
P.S. This is the woodpecker that I mentioned in an earlier picture from my gallery |
