[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Rarely I got a chance to approach very close a dragonfly. Their flight is among the finest ever known, so are their eyes, and usually this insect takes off of your face (or in our case, the objective) before one can make the slightiest move.
Again, I took advantage of the morning hours and the little bit dropped temperature. This dragonfly was just basking on the sun and amazingly let me come as close as 10 cm of him. Only thing I used was a regular +1 close-up lens.

Hello Petru,
I know how hard it can be to get close to these.
Some good detail in this macro although the DOF is quite shallow.
Sometimes it is better to take the shot from slightly further away and choose a POV where the shallow DOF isn't so noticeable.
Still,not a bad capture of the head.

Very impressive macro shot with terrific details of the dragonfly. Especially I like reproduction of the hair on its face and head. Colours are also fine as well as the composition of the picture. Kind wishes and best regards. TFS.
