Some people is really stupid to kill snake, also if they're poisoned most of time it's enough to let them go away.
The pic is really sharp with a great focus on the eye. Nice colors and details.

Salut Horia. Excelent detaliu, frumoasa poza, pacat de sarpe. Si pe aici serpii sunt rau vazuti. Exista o lista de condamnati pe nedrept. Serpii sunt cap de lista, apoi bufnitele, liliecii si chiar pasarile rapitoare (caci mananca puii de gaina) si care deci trebuiesc omorate neaparat. Oameni nascuti si crescuti in delta si care ar trebui sa fie obisnuiti cu acesti serpi inofensivi, ii omoara cu sarg. Lipsa unei educatii din copilarie care sa combata superstitiile stupide are drept consecinta adulti pus pe omorat cat incape. Nu-ti spun cati serpi morti avem pe soselele tulcene si in mare parte e vorba de "sarpele rau" sau "balaurul" - coluber, care nu mai e asa de frecvent ca natrixul.

Hi Horia,

It's a great shot but such a sad note. It really hurts me every time I hear about animals suffering because of people's ignorance. The smallest insect has as much right to feel the sun on his back as any other creature, man or beast.

Anyway a lovely shot of your friend, great detail and nicely framed. I wish him well.

Nice portrait of your patient.
Your snake portraits are interesting.
I think most people do not know the specifics of certain snakes. I guess I'm one of them. Of course..killing is not an option.

Crisp clear. This snake is not so often to be seen on TN.
as the animal was captured, you could have bring him into the shade (to avoid direct light and shadows) or put a large white piece af fabric between he and the sun (also to create a softer light).
