[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I chose to post this picture because of the interesting subject.
This is a washing machine. A very old washing machine but a washing machine nonetheless.
It works as follows: the water entering the barrel (in the background) enters tangentially (not perpendicular to the barrel)at a high speed, in order to spin inside.
The washing machine is "off" now. In order to turn it on, you just have to put inside what it is you need washing and move the two big boards so as to close their respective gaps (the ones you see water coming out from inside the barrel) and it's on.
The detergent of choice (back when these washing machines were in fashion) was ash from the fire used to warm the houses.
I consider this very interesting and ingenious and this is why I chose to post this pic.
It is a piece of my country's history and it is not worth loosing!
P.S. I am sorry that there is no technical details, but my computer seems to have forgotten them (I don't know why). I can tell you what I remember: Canon A80, ISO 80, F??, Exposure time 1/30 or 1/40...

Hi Catalin,
Absolutely amazing and clever idea, this washing-machine. It's great that you present that and I hope this will not be removed. Ecologically making a lot of sense, not possible for todays stressed people!!
