[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There are two kind of geese in this photo: Anser anser
the most spread goose in Europe, and Anser albifrons, only in winter in Romania, easy to recognize because of white spot on the forehed and black transversal spots on the abdomen. First one is bigger and heavier, is 75-85 cm total lenght and 160-170 cm span. The second is 60-73cm L and 130-160 cm A. There are very frightened bird, I never had the chanse to see them under 200 m. The photo was made on Saraturi Lake in Danube Delta, strictly protected area.
i used Nikon D70 + Sigma 170-500 at 500 mm, in A mode.

Hello Dan,
Impressive capture of a flock of White-fronted and Grey-lag Geese taking off. Though they are quite far away, the shot is sharp enough to recognise the species. Nice BG too.
