Bee beetle

The whole body is covered with yellow hairs,except the wing-cases (elytra), which have yellow and black stripes. They can reach about 9 to 12 mm in length. The larvae develop in rotting wood, the adults feed on blossoms.

What a strange creature, I've never seen one of these before. Nice to get a shot of him on that big flower with the bright green and sunlight in the background. Technically a great photo too, perfect exposure and lovely detail and colour. Great shot!

i saw and of course photographed one like this about 2 weeks ago and it was the
first time in my 37 years i have seen one.
you chose a wonderful composition with the beetle on the
beautiful flower.
