This butterfly is a Polygonia c-album,
nice picture from your bad... or table.

It looks like some-one nibbelt some of his wings..

Thats a really great shot of a Comma butterfly.

They have a really distinctive tattered looking wing shape.

There are two Comma types in Europe that this could be - The Comma , Polygonia c-album which is found across most of Europe and the Southern Comma, Polygonia egea which is a Mediterranean region butterfly [South East France, Coast of Italy, Sicily, Corsica, Greece, Serbia, Croatia].

I don't know which one this is, though since its a coppery colour underwing, it might well be the Southern Comma as it is lighter overall than the 'ordinary' Comma
