Beautiful shiny bee, delicatly feeding on cherry flower.
Order: Hymenoptera
Suborder: Apocrita
Superfamily: Apoidea
Family: Halictidae (Sweat bee)

Halictidae is a cosmopolitan family of the order Hymenoptera consisting of small to midsize bees which are usually dark-colored and often metallic in appearance. Several species are all or partly green and a few are red; a number of them have yellow markings, especially the males, which commonly possess yellow faces, a pattern widespread among the various families of bees. They are commonly referred to as sweat bees (especially the smaller species), as they are often attracted to perspiration.
SIZE: Less than 1/2 inch (12mm), usually less than 1/4 inch (6mm)
DESCRIPTION: The sweat bee is a small metallic green bee that is commonly seen in the summer.Sweat bees build small nests in the ground, often in the form of a colony. Most halictids nest in the ground, though a few nest in wood, and they mass-provision their young (a mass of pollen and nectar is formed inside a waterproof cell, an egg laid upon it, and the cell is sealed off, so the larva is given all of its food at one time, as opposed to "progressive provisioning", where a larva is fed repeatedly as it grows, as in honey bees). All species are pollen feeders and may be important pollinators, adult bees also feed on nectar. Unfortunately, they are also attracted to sweat.
It is attracted to perspiration and stings when touched or disturbed. The sting though is usually very minor.

Hello Tanja,
Very neat and gentle composition. Probably I would sharpen it a bit and worked with levels to enhance the contrast. A good note too!
Best greetings and TFS,
Michal

Hi Tanja,
This is a nice photo, good colours and pov but I agree with Michal that it could be sharper. Good shot none the less.
regards
Matt.

Hi Tanja.
I like your beautiful close-up picture. Captured scene is simply wonderful. Composition and cropping are great as well as the POV. Insect is sharp and perfect detailed. Some details of the flower petals are lost. DOF is a bit shallow. However, this is matter of taste. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.
