[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the one I have tried to save from my cat, she has a bad habit of hunting dragonflies and eating them so she brought him home to play.Saddly he didn't survive, he was hurt too much.

It's male dragonfly I think Aeshna grandis
since he was brown green coloured,
It's called sometimes mosaic dragonfly or migrant hawker. The flight period is from July to the end of October. They can be found in North Africa, southern and central Europe to the Baltic region.

Hi Tanja

So who would have ever thought that somebody's dragged in cats' dinner might feature on TrekNature as a posting. Very interesting capture and note to go along with it.

I’m not normally one for big borders, but I do believe this one does fit the presentation. The colours and the details are well defined and the exposure was spot-on.

Good work and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Tanja, amazing macro with wonderful details and splendid colors, perfect exposure and focus, very well done, have a nice week end, ciao Silvio

Hi Tanja,
I like so much the POV used to catch this dragonfly.
You catched beautiful colors on it, and the patterns are very good also.
But I have some seriuos observations about the presentation used.
I believe you had to make an important crop, and tryed to compensate this with the frame.
I think the frame is too big, and due their large size has almost the same importance as the picture. The same about the inner white glow you added, it rest importance to the picture.
I'm so annoying about the presentation, but personally thinks all the show must come from the photo itself.
Well done, and my best regards,
JM

Hi Tanja a creative presentation with the Dark border and light picture edges shame about the poor Dragon Fly but it's part of nature. Good colours and sharpness. have a great weekend rgds Necip.

Hi Tanja.
Next your amazing close-up and noble action (but it is wild nature). Great sharpness, details, colours and DOF. Reproduction of the dragonfly is really perfect as well as the impressive cropping. Bravo. Superb done. TFS and best regards.
Alexei.

Hi Tanja

This is a very interesting story...i didn't know cats have such a passion for dragonflies :))
I would have been nice to see a picture of this beaty alive and in a natural habitat, but this one, just how it is, is a very nice and original photo.
I guess i agree with Loot in saying that the frame, although big, fitts this shot well.

Bravo and TFS
Horia

Hi Tanja!
Wow, you've been busy, 121 images posted :-) This is good, great detail and colours even with the flash. Camera work is good and of course you show your artistic streak with the post-processing, the faded white edge works well I think. Isn't it strange how cats can be such loving creatures towards humans but so cruel at the same time. My cats are of course the same.
Best regards,
Adrian
