[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Digging my garden and preparing for the winter I accidentaly dug up this larva in ant egg chamber.I'm not really an ant fan, ant the ants gave me a proper bitting.
But it's not an ant, Radomir (thanks) made the ID and it's a May beetle larva, Melolontha melolontha.

Not really a nice looking thing.

Hello Sily!
I have to say that this is not a queen of ants but a larva of beetle from family Scarabaeidae. Similar photo with some details about type of its larva you can find in my earlier presentation here. I hope it will be helpful for you :)

Yeah, not really nice looking, but quite interesting. Parts of larva's body looks like amber, they're almost nice :-) Very good quality, thanks for sharing this insect with us :-)

Hi Tanja.
Not really a nice looking thing. it is true and at the same time it is not true. Very good close-up picture. Only one point is not he best. It is DOF and blurred far part of the insect. I am impressed with sharpness and details of almost entire larva image. I welcome very impressive inclined composition too. Light and light shadow as well as the colours are perfect.
