[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This particular fungus is known by the name of Candle Snuff (Xylaria hypoxylon). Thanks to Robbrown, I now know the name of this interesting fungus. I don't know anything else about this species, so any help would be nice.
I have found this fungus usually on decaying tree stumps and limbs. I almost stood on top of this nicely fingered one (it was under the leaves). They are usually quite small, but some I have found are almost 4cm long. They are a little hard to get the correct exposure on because they are so white (and live in a dark atmosphere), and, like for this picture, I had to get down on the ground to get a good view.
I used no tripod/monopod. I did use a close up type filter just so I wouldn't have to be so close. I used available light, and did only a little bit of a PP crop to eliminate some of that leaf in the foreground.

The image is very clear and detailed and better infact than any I have of this one. I would though consider cloning out the leaf that is OOF on the left.

It's hard to ID these coral fungi because there are so many of them and many similar ones.Nice capture,though.Perhaps a little more site-grooming,if possible,(moving leaves etc) might have helped make this easier.
