This is a nice portrait Stefan. One has to love these birds. I like the close crop. It is nice to see all the feather and beak details. The image has strong impact, a nice simple composition and is technically well executed.

Sharp and extremely well exposed. It's difficult to capture all the detail with a subject as light colored as this. The colors on the bill are amazing. Well done.

This is an exceptional great close-up shot of a pelican. I just love the brilliant details you've captured, especially of the beak.

The tight cropped composition worked well for this "almost" portrait shot. Although there is some slight OE on the brighter parts of the plumage I still believe that you managed rather well to control the exposure and to capture sufficient details of the face, head, neck, and those body parts that do show. The colours are splendid and the dark water surface makes the bird stand out well against the BG.

A nicely composed shot making the bill the focus of the shot - well framed, leading to the eye which is likewise in very good focus. You have handled the exposure well, caturing the pinky tones in the feathers.
