Short break from my posts from Afrika. This one taken yesterday as first flowers are showing up even in the very ugly and misty cold wheather.
Magnolia is an ancient genus. Having evolved before bees appeared, the flowers developed to encourage pollination by beetles. As a result, the carpels of Magnolia flowers are tough, to avoid damage by eating and crawling beetles.

Lenka,
Wow, the color really show well against the dark or black BG. Beautiful magnolia, I would love to have the tree for my garden. Great detail and sharpness, love the soft pink color. Very lovely image. Thanks have a good weekend.

Hi Lenka,
A very nice and soft image captured against a very harsh and black BG...very well composed. Great exposure and details. I like how the tiny, soft and hairy leaf like structures have shown up against the datk BG. Interesting Note.
Well done!!

Hola Lenka.
Delicados tonos los de la flor que contrastan con el fondo de la imagen.
Buen comentario.
Cordiales saludos, JL.
