Dianthus sylvestris
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Dianthus sylvestris is a bright carnation whose colour might seem gaudy but fits in well with all the bright blues and yellows in the grass. Lucky we got here before the cattle. The farmers use electric fences to constrain the cattle and slowly advance the fences through the meadows. Go too late, and everything is eaten. Go too, soon and the flowers are not out.

Few people here seems to apreciate flower pictures (although there are some that do). Pitty because it's a wonderful subject (of course, doesn't inply the dificulties of a bird in flight or insect shooting, still it's not easy to take good flowers photos too; one needs some knowledge and certain skills to do that).
Lovely shot.
