You did manage to capture the cloudy dullness of the day. If that was the intent, then you did it. If however you wanted to create a photo that has some more depth and impact, I would choose to do a little enhancement to increase the value range which would add more depth and interest to the whole. I do think you chose a nice subject, with nice angled lines. The isolated tree is nice though a bit too centered to add much energy to the composition. I tried a workshop, not on the composition but on the value range.
