this is my another not excelent shot of this kind of butterfly. I don˝t know how but all my butterflies are not cleare . I should learn a lot about DOF in macro shot.

Frien from TN, Peter Roos /batu/ told me it is a female of Argynnis paphia

thanks Peter.

Well Marjan, I see it clear, detailed and with good light, I dont know why you say it is not clear. If you mean that it is not very isolated and mixed with BG, that has also a lot to do with POV, and sometimes it is very difficult or imposible to do it only adjusting a precise DOF.
Maybe this is a very complex BG and distracts a bit from the butterfly, but in the other hand shows nicely the enviroment where you took the shot. Best regards, Felipe.

Hi Marjan,
nice BF, good colours and DOF. But IMHO too much of free space from above and from right-hand side...
Anyway, thanks and best wishes from Ukraine,
Elena

Hallo Marjan,
you present a nice picture showing the butterfly and its environment. The important parts of the butterfly with respect to the composition show pretty good sharpness. When wings are not fully opened and you take the picture from an unfavourable angle - which is often the only possibility - parts of the wings as the tip of the right forewing have to be not really sharp. Using another aperture (perhaps > f/10) may partially overcome this.
Thank you for posting this vivid picture.
Best wishes, Peter

P.S. The butterfly is a female of Argynnis paphia

Hello Marjan,
Butterflies can be tricky to get. One thing I found is that it helps to take the shot from a parallel plane to the butterfly, at least as much as you can given the circumstances. Especially with a shallow DOF, it is important to stand squarely parallel so that more of the butterfly would be in focus.
Though a bit soft, this is still a nice shot of this beautiful butterfly.
Good light and nice colors.
TFS. : )

This is a really nice sharp shot of the Fritillary although it is an old rather worn specimen. The background is a bit disturbing so I've tried a workshop. I hope you didn't mind me trying out a Workshop?
TFS, Ulla

very nice one Marjan.
good and well taken shot, good quality, for the composition you can crop it a little, but even that you made a good photo here.
