[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Oak trees are a type of deciduous tree. These are broad-leaved trees that shed all their leaves during one season.Oak trees can live 200 or more years.
Oaks have spirally arranged leaves, with a lobed margin in many species; some have serrated leaves or entire leaves with a smooth margin. The flowers are catkins, produced in spring.

The fruit is a nut called an acorn, borne in a cup-like structure known as a cupule; each acorn contains one seed (rarely two or three) and takes 6-18 months to mature, depending on species. The "live oaks" (oaks with evergreen leaves) are not a distinct group, instead with their members scattered among the sections below.

Nice shot really well composed.
What I love best are the warm colors of the sunset coming.

Hi Marjan
For many people out there, seeing an oak tree or an acorn is nothing strange, but I've been living at the coast for the last 20 years and I've never seen an oak tree around here. As a matter of fact I can not remember seeing and oak since long before I even moved to the coast. Probably the last time was during my childhood days which mean I have not seen an acorn in nature for at least about 30 years. Your photo and notes provided me with a pleasurable moment of nostalgia.
Your title very much sums up the photo since it reflects a ‘modest acorn’, a piece of branch, and a leaf from the oak tree. Very modest indeed, but rather well presented in a pleasing composition with very natural colours brought on by the late afternoon sun, sharp details, a neutral BG with sporadic portions of sky piercing through the foliage of the tree, and great exposure control preventing any excessive reflection from the shiny leaf and acorn sheath.
Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Zdravo Marjane.Odlicna kompozicija i super boje.
Pozdrav Bosko.

Hi, Marjan.
Nice shot. Good exposure and very nice light. Small nit, composition is a little bit too much concentrating on leave. Maybe crop about cm from bottom helps.
