EGYPTIAN FRUIT BAT

Description:

The top parts are of chestnut-colored color and the low ones a little more whites of egg. In the males they are very apparent two glandular groups placed on both sides of the neck, close to two darker sometimes greenish locks of hair. The snout is alike that of a mouse or a small fox.


Nourishment:

His nourishment is based on fruits and nectar of the flowers, for what in many cases they act as important polinizadores.


Reproduction:

Aparéan during the winter epoch. The gestation lasts 15 weeks. There is born the only baby, who is transported in the bosom of the mother until it has aptitude to fly. It is not autosufficient up to expiring 3 months.


Customs and social life:

They live in groups which number changes between dozens and thousands of individuals. They shelter in grottos, old buildings, trees and gardens. They prove to be active during the day. They emit a long and monotonous shout


State of conservation:

Abundant in his wide area of distribution.

I love the shot. You might have cropped out that bat in the foreground, but that's not a big deal. Content of the photo is great!
