Hola Jacob,
nice capture of rumina. I think that the aperture applied is o.k. The background is only very very slightly disturbing but concomitantly you achieved great depth of field with respect to wing presentation. By means of F8 or lower, sharpness of the left forewing (tip) would be not so good. Pleasant natural colours.

Very fine capture of this Festoon not often seen on TN. Excellent sharpness and fine colours. The flower and stems in the background are fine to me but maybe the olive colour is a bit dull. But that's nature you can't always choose the background!!

This is yet another very nice macro shot from you and a very beautiful butterfly photo. I really like the sharp details you present this lovely species with as well as the nice color and light.
Regarding the DOF...it's very tricky when you don't have a natural clear BG. I think that if you would have gone lower here with the "f", the tips of the wings would have been blurred themselves. So, personally, i would rather leave a more distracting BG than blurr the subject. But of course, it always depends on the subject and its position, too :)

I have never seen this species by myself. You caught it very well. Indeed I would prefer some more tight cropping but anyway it's a great contribution.
