I do not know if he will be the king of the forest, but by melena that it does not need. It surprised to see to me this small stopped nocturnal butterfly in the branch. They give desire to caress the melena to him. I have tried to identify it (without killing to me) and are several similar ones so I leave it into the hands of the experts. If time coat something I will return it to try. I hope that you like.

Fine sharp capture of this moth, Jose!
I cannot tell you what species but it is a male (you can see by the antennae) and he is of the Lasiocampidae family.

Hola José Luis.
Bella imagen por el color de la palomita que contrasta muy bien con el fondo negro. Muy buenos detalles y encantadora mariposa nocturna tan propia de esta época del año.
Un abrazo,
José Miguel

Batu probably is right - it's Helianthocampa herculeana.
Very good capture of this rare moth. Excellent colours and sharpness. If you would like to add this picture to my database - you're always welcome ;-)
