I have found this species only twice in my life so far. This male was the first in southwestern Spain. I was walking up a small stream an dsaw a swimming Ladder Snake. I followed this snake but at some point I lost him. At that moment I saw this Orange White-legged Damselfly.
Maybe not the best picture , but I still have good memories to this encounter

Hi Jacob
I've never seen this species in my life, so i would say lucky you for finding it twice :)
It does look very much alike the other species of teh Platycnemis genus, but this one has definitely much more color.
That is well emphasized here by the great contrast with the surface it is resting on.
As usual, sharpness is very good when it comes to your photos. Add to that a good exposure and a nice diagonal composition and you've got an excellent shot.
Bravo, my friend and TFS

Hi Jacob, I love the light here, both on the wood and the Damselfly. Very unusual pov and pose, the colours are well saturated and the Damselfly is sharp. Nice composition.

Hello Jacob,
You were lucky to come across this beautiful damselfly and you got a pretty good shot as a memory too - it's our personal memories that are the most valuable after all! The colours are striking in this beauty and the details are quite clear as it shows up nicely against the background. A fine composition too.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Great POV. I love the angle of the branch and the angle of the dragonfly. Great composition. Exposure and color is great as well.
