Another upload from my last seatrip, this time during the traject Casablanca to Bilbao,on this particular morning I saw lots of spouting whales from a distance, when we saw a few about a mile on our bow we tried to make an easy appoach and with good luck as we passed them on a distance of about 30 to 40 meters and they didnt look bothered,in total there were 4 together but I managed to take a few captures where 3 are visible, although as a sailor you see them more than most of us,it is still dificult to identificate them,as you mostly see the spout and their back with or without dorsal fin,the estimation of their size is as well a helpfull thing.
I think these whales could be minke whales, but I am not 100% about it
Picture is made with 200mm from a height of about 15 meters from the waterlevel (bridgedeck)
hope you like it and thanks for watching and distance I guess of about 30/40 meters, picture is slightly cropped.in the ws I will post a picture of their spouting |
