I am so glad you have decided to post again. I think this will determine other people, including me, too to increase their activity on TN.

You have made a very fine photo making good use of the soft light. Color tones are very fine and the sharpness of the image good. It is the well chosen POV that offers a good perspective over the bird.

Tu fotografía muy interesante de esa visita a Mallorca, una tierra que me encanta y que conozco ya que viví casi cuatro años en la zona SE de la Isla.

El encuadre muy forzado por la izquierda a mi entender, pero un buen encuadre y control de los blancos.

Hi Ulla. I missed this yesterday i am so glad to see you have posted a picture here on TN . Today thats you and Mario both with pictures. I know how busy life gets and only 24hrs a day to do all the things you want to.
This a a fine close up of the Black-winged Stilt as you say keeping cool. I can just see the orange legs in the water. I like the shape of the bird from the biil to the tail feathers very streamline. The colour in theeye shows up from the white and black featehrs.

Hello Ulla, this is a very fine capture of this Black-winged Stilt. Shooting at 100mm, you must have been able to get close. The capture of the eye and other great detail, and your positioning of the bird are very well done.

I am delighted to see you post again, Ulla.
This place was never the same without many leading lights leaving by stages in the recent past and you were one of them.
It was a bit painful for me to see your slate completely clean, but with your first post on board, it feels good now.
Hopefully, many of the stalwards and pioneers of TN would eventually come back again, following your foot-steps.

This picture of Black-winged Stilt you took in Spain is a wonderful capture. With its legs almost completely immersed in water, the bird looks very attractive.
Technically too, the image is faultless.

Keep posting as regularly as you can.

Such a passive image!!! Normally a bird image would not calm me, but this one has that feeling about it...a sort of day with no high expectations and yet time to reflect, lets the dimmer light give off the true contrasts and tonals!

It's so nice to see you! Glad you had a wonderful trip and I am sure you are keeping busy in your garden. I think this is the first time I have seen a Black-winged Stilt without being able to see his long legs. Lovely shot with pretty colors and details of his face and feathers. The eye is wonderful! I love the reflections and shadows in the water.

Hi Ulla,

I'm glad to see You and Your photos again. When seeing how many great photographers we (the community) lost after that "copyright problem" a few months ago, I was really sad. Hopefully others (like Howard - 'marhowie') will return, too.

Simple yet wonderful image, a pity Sun didn't shine, but the composition (more space in front of the bird than behind) is excellent, so is the pose. Tfs.
