Rhinoceros beetle
The rhinoceros beetles are a subfamily (Dynastinae) of beetles in the family of scarab beetles (Scarabaeidae).
They are among the largest of beetles and are so named because of the charactertic horns borne by the males of most species in the group. The male beetles use their horns in mating battles against other males. Their larval stage is long, several years in some species. The larvae feed on rotten wood while the adults feed on nectar, plant sap and fruit. Rhinoceros beetles are also the strongest animals on the planet, proportionally. They can lift up to 850 times their own weight.

Excellent beetle photograph! Great DOF and technical quality.
Seeing this reminds me I am intent on photographing an exceptionally rare beetle called the "Pink Coral Tiger Beetle". It is estimated that, at most, there are only 3,000 of this endangered species remaining on earth. They live on a tiny area of sand dunes in southwestern Utah, USA.

I was there once but could not find any to photograph. It was the wrong time of year. I will return during the right time of year to take a picture. :)

Nice capture of Oryctes, species which occurs also in Poland :)
Natural light, good DOF and composition. On the other hand I thing that picture could be a little cutted to better expose main object - an insect :>

Hello Ena,
An excellent close-up of this impressive beetle! It shows the characteristic horn really well. Reminds me of one of the characters in the American cartoon "A Bug's Life".
