Egret

A little Egret taken on the beach at Valle Gran Rey, in La Gomera, the Canary Islands. Bit of a lucky shot - as I was not on the look out to take any photos and happened upon this egret. It was puffing-up some feathers whilst it scared off a seagull from the rock it was just landing on.
I have found it hard to get a good capture of the head as it is pale as is the background. Any tips on this will be most welcome... |

Beautiful shot!! Love the composition. The rocks set off the bird very well. You did a pretty good job with the DOF as the bird is beautifully in focus and it is not washed out - very easy to do that on a white subject (atleast it is very easy for me - I do it all the time).
I think the pic could use a little bit of fill flash and sharpening. I have done a workshop - take a look.
congratulations on this capture!! It is a lovely shot :)

Hi Ed
Great exposure in this shot. Excellent depth of colour and nice POV. Crisp, clear and sharp. Lovely to view. :-)

Hello Ed,
What a great shot of this egret, with a bit more space in front it would be still greater, but this is my opinion.
Anyway I like it very much.
