Great macro capture of this beautiful African grass blue resembling our Cypriot Karsandra but small eyes on the wings in this Zizeeria i think. Wonderful details, sharpness, DOF/POV and composition.

Hi Ivan,

A striking study in browns and buffs. I love the pose showing off the wings, face and body. Details of the pretty wing markings are wonderful. But it definitely is the brown tones that cry out for attention. Just marvelous how the butterfly, the plant and the background blend so very well together. A very artistic photograph.

I'm going to go out on a limb here Ivan and guess that you really have an attachment to earth tones...and if not then maybe I should let you know:-) your images look natural as earth tones should be and they then go on to pile it on with good facts...Earth tones is a vague word but I think it is best known with photographers....as is say pastels..I like to work at times with pastels...at anyrate a fine image sir...Well deserved applause!

Hello Ivan,

The colors of your photo are so beautiful! There is such a perfect match between the colors of the butterfly and the background. You have shown the insect in great sharpness so that wings pattern can be well seen. In the mean time head and body are also very well shown. The strong light you have had looks very well too.

Hej Ivan,
en riktigt läcker bild med de enkla färgerna och sparsamma ljuset. Knivskarp med mycket fina detaljer.
Jag tycker att komposition är enastående med fin bildvinkel
och sedan är det ju inget fel på bakgrunden heller, fjärilen
står ut mycket snyggt.
High quality as usual.

Ha ett skönt veckslut trots det tråkiga vädret.
Vi har haft gråväder i över en vecka men börjar längta efter lite solljus nu.

This is a great capture where it is possible to see the most minute details of this little b/f. I was quite startled to notice that its eye resembles its wings in colour and pattern!
A very well chosen dof which isolates it well from the oof b/g.
