[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This one is dedicated to Horia because his Treefrog shots are absolutely excellent! :-)

My sister found this fellow on a palm tree by the swimming pool at the place I was staying in Spain. We carefully brought it to a place with less people and I snapped a few shots of it. At night time you can barely get to sleep over the deafening noise of these treefrogs croaking away! :-)

I hope you like it!

Stripeless Tree Frog - Hyla meridionalis

The Stripeless Tree Frog or Mediterranean Tree Frog (Hyla meridionalis), is a species of frog. It resembles the common tree frog, but is larger (some females up to 65 mm), has longer hindlegs, and the flank stripe only reaches to the front legs (often starting at the eyes, not at the nostrils). The croaking resembles that of the common tree frog, but it is deeper and slower: 'wroar... wroar... wroar'

Distribution
Southern France, southern Portugal and Spain (from Catalonia to Andalusia), also in Menorca and Madeira. It can also be found in Garajonay National Park, on the island of La Gomera.

Thanks!

Hi Joe

Many thanks for this beautiful dedication and also for your very nice words in regards to my photos.
This is a very nice capture of this Hyla meridionalis, mate! I like the rather original approach, with an in-depth close up in which we see the smallest details of its eyes or toes. Very good use of the DOF and flash, plus a gorgeous chromatic palette.
I know how lots of Hylas sound together so i know what you've been through...you have my sympathy :)

Bravo for this capture, TFS and thanks again for the dedication.
Horia

A nicely executed portrait of a hylid specimen Joe, your viewpoint and selective focusing are perfect, so is your exposure, I can almost see your reflection in that huge pupil! The sharp rendering of an adhesive disc at the tip of a finger is also a good touch. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us, my friend.
Mehmet

You went for the eye in this close-up image and did a professional job as usual, Joe.
It is a perfect image from every point of view.
Thanks for sharing this great image from Spain.

Hi Joey,
An excellent close-up of this tree frog.
The flash really brought out the irridescence of his colors.
I especially enjoy the "gold" circle in his eye.
The focus is very sharp and highlights the texture of the skin.
You caught a very cute expression on his face.
TFS. : )

Hola My Young Friend.
Just great image. We dont have to many frogs here in the middle of the dessert you know, so when I saw one is a great moment for me. Lovely Photo to a great friend.
