El grillo está emparentado con las langostas y los saltamontes. Sus patas están adaptadas al salto, sin embargo saltan menos que los saltamontes, lo que lo hace más torpe. A cambio, corre por el suelo con rapidez. Crea su madriguera en el suelo, que consiste en una galería de más de medio metro, y que termina en una habitación esférica. La entrada a su madriguera la mantiene limpia en una gran extensión, ya que la utiliza para ser zona de “canto” y así atraer a las hembras (sólo los machos cantan) y para que se produzca el sonido tan peculiar de este insecto, levanta ligeramente sus alas y las frota ligeramente una contra la otra. Las hembras son capaces de captar este sonido gracias a que, como la mayoría de los ortópteros, poseen órganos timpánicos. Su régimen alimenticio es omnívoro: come tanto hojas y tallos como insectos.

Wow - Nicolas - it's perfect.
What a great sharp shot of this interesting hopper. I love the glance on it's body and the BG in white is also very good.

First glance, i thought it was a cockroach. Now that i realise it's a hopper... i feel much better. I HATE ROACHES!
What you did here is VERY nice. U did much justice to a insect that most people don't care about. I like the blown out effect of the background, give the hopper much focus.

Your use of the Raynox prompted me to buy the 150, but I still cannot manage your results - in your case, the lens is giving excellent results with pin sharp detail coupled with very good use of the flash - Beautiful indeed.

Hola Nicolas, el resto de criticas ya reflejan lo que pienso de esta grillo, una gran captura.
Como estoy de mal humor, porque me he torcido un tobillo y no puedo aprovechar este buen tiempo para salir a hacer fotos y coger setas, pues te diré que me molesta ligeramente el ruido del fondo :D
Hize un trabajillo para ver la diferencia, espero que me perdones por el atrevimiento. Un saludazo.
