Especie perenne
Las hojas son opuestas, simples, lineares, gris verdes y a menudo fuertemente glaucas a azulverde.
Las flores tienen cinco pétalos, con un margen festoneado típico, y de color rosa fuerte a rosa pálido.
En principio, el clavel silvestre florece durante la primavera y verano.
A las especies de Dianthus las usan como fuente de alimentación las larvas de algunas especies de Lepidoptera incluida la Polilla de las berzas, Polilla de doble raya, De alas amarillas grande y Lychnis.

Plante herbacée vivace, hermaphrodite, glabre (30-80 cm).
Tige dressée, arrondie.
Feuilles opposées, sessiles, trinervées, les caulinaires linéaires plus courtes que les entre-nœuds, les radicales plus larges, toutes à limbe lancéolé et subobtus.
Inflorescence : cyme bipare lâche ; calicule à écailles largement ovales, à pointe courte, égalant le quart du calice ; calice gamosépale longuement tubulaire, à dents triangulaires aiguës ; corolle large de 4 à 6 cm formée de 5 pétales lilas-rose, tachés de vert ou de brunâtre à la gorge, étalés, à limbe lacinié jusqu’au delà du milieu ; 10 étamines ; 2 styles.
Fruit : capsule cylindrique à 4 dents.
Pollinisation : entomogame.
Dissémination : épizoochore.
Prairies, bois (lisières, clairières) plus ou moins humides.

its colors are simplt lovely, the contrast with the BG is great and excellent usage ofthe difuser gave you a very nice fill of the flash.

Nice done, good detail and color. The crop is a bit tight however as the petal at the top is touching the frame.

Hello Nicolas,
Beautiful shot of this species of Dianthus. The similar sp. arinarius, all white, covers the sand dunes here in early summer. Good sharpness and lovely colour. Personally I'm not too keen on the very black background for a wild flower but for certain purposes it can of course be useful.
