[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Touch-me-not Balsam is an annual herbaceous plant in the family Balsaminaceae found in damp places in Europe, Asia and North America. The yellow flowers are followed by pods which forcefully explode when ripe, ejecting the seeds for some distance.
It is a very rare plant to the south of the Pyrenees and nonexistent in the rest of the Iberian Peninsula.

This photo is taken in the Val d’Aran, Central Pyrenees, Catalonia.

Ferran,
Most unusual plant. Never knew this existed.
Thanks for sharing.
Would this one have any medicinal purpose in life???
GREAT IMAGERY.
Lovely W/S too.
Warm greetings from COLD Canada from Mario.

Interesant només per les explicacions que has donat. No la coneixia però evidenment espectacular i de gran bellesa pel seu color i formes. Les mines de la fulla sota la flor tb interessants, ves a saber de quin
micro-lepidòpter es tracta :-)
Bon document Ferran.

J. Ignasi.

Hello Ferran,
A fine capture of this rare Catalonian species of plant, the flower being shown with excellent technical qualities. It looks like its leaf has been attacked by some species of leaf-mining insect!
Thanks and best regards,
Ivan

Hello Ferran,
very clear, well detailed, well lighted presentation of the European Touch-me-not, its exploding mechanism well explained in tyour notes and the workshop.
We also have that plant in good numbers in the Vienna woods where it seems to prefer cool shadowy places. However, it is facing strong competition by two neophytes, Impatiens glandulifera and I. parviflora that have become much more common in the wild than the native species that you are presenting here.
When trekking or jogging through the forests with friends we often have fun with triggering the explosive ejection of seeds by slightly touching the ripe fruits.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter

Hello Ferran,
