[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Spiranthes spiralis, commonly known as the Autumn Ladies'-tresses, is the latest-blooming native species of orchid, blooming in August and September. It is characterised by a spiral inflorescence produced after the leaves have died down. The inflorescence can be very small (as little as 50mm high) especially in short grazed grassland. It occurs most frequently in close cropped grassland overlying chalk or limestone.
The area of distribution is from the Mediterranean zone of Northern Europe northwards and westwards to the Western Himalayas. In Great Britain and Ireland its northern-most occurrence is on the Isle of Man.

Hi Ferran,

I never knew there were so many species of Orchids and that they grew in so many different ways. This one is fascinating with the beautiful flowers growing from the long stem. The Orchids are so pretty with fine details. A perfect background and composition.

Hello Ferran !
I had never seen this species of Orchid before, and it's such a gorgeous one ! I love how they are growing in one line and gently spiraling around the central stem. Your picture is fantastic - so many details and textures, soft colors, nice blurred BG, wonderful vertical composition... Very well done !
Valérie.

Bonjour Ferran,
Très intéressante publication avec cette belle macro finement détaillée ; il est domage que l'inflorescence ne soit pas restitué en entier.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
