DISTRIBUTION:
The location of the Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) extends the entire length of the Nile and across Africa south of the Sahara desert. It is also seen in marine waters near the continent. It is present on the island of Madagascar.

REPRODUCTION:
The breeding season coincides with the dry season. Females build their nests high on the banks of dry rivers. The clutch is constituted from 20 to 80 eggs. Incubation takes two to three months. The mother cares for the nest, some mothers being more dedicated than others.

FOOD:
The feeding of Crocodylus niloticus, and in the other crocodiles, is gradually changing, or expanding, as is gaining size. Newborns consume aquatic insects and spiders. When you are a little large right diet includes crustaceans, molluscs and fish, at this stage and the newborn always seem to be eating. Give indications of subadults feed primarily on fish, passing seasons with an empty stomach. The adults, who are already quite large, eat fish when you can not catch a mammal; of these include antelopes, zebras, cattle and sometimes people.

DESCRIPTION:
The Nile crocodile grows to over 6 feet long, weighing over one metric ton. There are reports that expand the length to 7.6 meters.

THREATS:
Floods cause loss of nests. The monitor lizards eat the eggs of the Nile crocodile
